ADR

The ADR is the European agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. It was done at Geneva on 30 September 1957 under the auspices of UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe), and it entered into force on 29 January 1968.

  • Appointment of safety adviser (for all ADR classes)
    appointment of the safety adviser to the relevant competent authorities (see the List of Competent Authorities at http://www.unece.org/trans/danger/publi/adr/country-info_e.html)
  • Annual report
    preparation of the annual report on the undertaking’s activities in the carriage of dangerous goods
  • Notifications of occurrences
    writing of the notification of occurrence made to the competent authority of the Contracting Party when a serious accident or incident takes place during loading, filling, carriage or unloading of dangerous goods
  • Security plan
    writing of the security plan when carriers, consignors and other participants are engaged in the carriage of high consequence dangerous goods listed in ADR 1.10.5
  • Classification
    classification of substances not mentioned by name and technical evaluation for the classification of waste, substances or mixtures samples
  • Training
    • training of the undertaking’s employee, verification for compliance with the requirements governing the identification of dangerous goods being transported
    • implementation of emergency procedures
    • assistance for correct labelling of packaging and placarding of vehicles
    • instructions concerning the conditions of carriage, loading, unloading and handling of dangerous goods
ADR

The ADR 2013 was implemented at European level by the Directive 2012/45/EU and subsequently at national level by all Member States. In Italy it was implemented by the Ministerial Decree of 21st January 2013 (O.J. n. 61 of 13th March 2013).
In complying with provisions set out in ADR, the safety adviser appointment is of particular importance. Each undertaking, the activities of which include the carriage, or the related packing, filling or unloading, of dangerous goods by road shall appoint one or more safety advisers for the carriage of dangerous, responsible for helping to prevent the risks inherent in such activities with regard to persons, property and the environment.
